Purse Snatching is taking and carrying away a purse or other thing of value with intent to deprive the owner of the article not constituting grand larceny or robbery. Because this charge is very similar to strong arm robbery, it is important to make sure you have someone to defend you to make sure not only that the government does not convict an innocent person, but also to make sure you are not over charged with an offense. Purse snatching is a misdemeanor and is punishable by up to three years in prison.
